Back in 1999, I created The Puppy Baby Book for my cherished dog, Shasta Annie Ireland to record her first year. I sent the files to the printer June 9, 2000 and received the shipment of books September 15, 2000.
Sadly, Shasta passed over the rainbow bridge in 2006, 4 days before her 17th birthday.
This unique “fill in the blanks” book was a 2001 Independent Publisher Award finalist. It gives dog lovers the same opportunity to chart their puppy’s growth and progress, as parents of infants do with their baby books.
Now, as your puppy grows you will have permanent records of:
- Where the puppy was born
- The birth parents names and breeds
- Who the puppy resembles
- Where the puppy was adopted from
- The first meal
- The puppy’s playmates
- When potty training took place
- Obedience school classes
- Favorite things to do
- What vitamins the puppy takes
- Medical records
- Medical emergencies and blunders
- The human relatives
- And much more
There is a keepsake pocket for the first rabies tag after it expires, a page where you can place your puppy’s paw prints with non-toxic paint or ink, a pocket to keep the adoption papers, a placeholder for an adoption announcement card, a first aid kit list, and picture placeholders throughout the book.
You will be able to write what you did with your puppy on special days throughout the calendar year from New Years day to Hanukkah and Christmas — 23 occasions in all. Use a fine-point Sharpie-type pen, or better yet, hire a calligrapher!
Our dogs are loved and cherished as easily as our human family members and companions, and this book is a testament to that bond.
Anyone who loves animals will fall in love with The Puppy Baby Book. It is my desire to change the way people relate to their pets. I would prefer people to transition from the phrase most commonly used, “pet owner” to the more loving, caring and responsible phrases, pet guardian or pet parent.
The Puppy Baby Book is dedicated to the love we have for our companion animals; our dogs are family members, not just pets.
We also offer a complete line of special certificates for your puppy you can purchase individually, or an adoption kit which includes the book, certificates and two adoption announcement cards.
For an autograph, purchase directly from my website. Indicate the correct spelling of the puppy’s name, or the human name.
